The Brief

Reputation intelligence, delivered as one file.

No platform to log into, no seat licenses, no migration. It runs on the media data you already license, and it ends in a decision with an owner attached.

A real one, not a screenshot

This is the monthly report, running.

Click through it. Every panel works. The company, the peers, the outlets and the coverage are invented for demonstration, and the report says so on its own footer. The structure and the method are exactly what a client receives.

Two cadences

Start with the monthly. It is the one that changes a conversation.

MONTHLY · MRS REPORT

The board-grade read

Four analytical reads, competitive positioning, and every article classified and traceable.

  • Your brand signature across the four pillars, against the peer set
  • The weighting test. Your rank recomputed under six weighting schemes, including your own board priorities, so "you weighted us unfairly" is answered before it is asked
  • The competitive gap, ordered by winnability rather than by size
  • The media relations map: which relationships to repair first, by volume, reach and hostility
  • The full enrichment table, every article scored and dated
WEEKLY · MRS BRIEF

The operating read

Three drivers, one call, three actions. Written to be read in ninety seconds on a Monday.

  • Where each driver sits and which way it moved
  • The three things moving reputation this week, each with the article behind it
  • What the method demoted. High-reach stories that scored low, so you can see the correction being made
  • Act now, Monitor, Amplify, each tied to a named driver
In every one

The things a report should have to say about itself.

Most measurement asks you to trust the number. These four lines appear on the face of every Brief, not in an appendix.

Scope
How many articles were in scope, how many a human verified, and the contracted ceiling
Source
Which coverage, whose license, what date range, and who can independently verify it
Confidence
Estimated figures carry a tilde. Auto-scored and human-verified stay visually distinct
Traceability
Every figure links back to the article behind it. Nothing is asserted without a source
One file, no dependencies. It opens from an email, from a laptop with no network, and it will still open in five years. There is nothing to log into and nothing that expires.
How it starts

Three steps, and the first one is a conversation.

Step 01

PBI scoping session

Who this reporting is for, which narratives the business must win, which outlets and markets are priority, and which competitors are contesting the space. This defines what gets measured. It is a prerequisite, not an upsell: without it, nobody can say which coverage counts.

Step 02

First period, delivered

Real coverage, real scores, human verification across the priority set, and the editorial read that turns it into a decision. You see the whole thing before committing to a schedule.

Step 03

Cadence

Monthly, or monthly with a weekly operating brief alongside it. Scope and the human-verification ceiling are set in writing and printed on every report.

What it costs. A PBI scoping session is published, and it is credited in full against your first Brief period. The Brief itself is quoted after scoping, because its cost moves with the platform you license, how far back that license reaches, and the verification ceiling and driver count set in PBI. Questions

What is the MRS Brief?
A reputation intelligence report on your own media coverage, delivered as a single HTML file. It scores every article on four pillars, rolls them into the narratives your business must win, and ends in a decision with an owner. It runs on the media data you already license, so there is no platform to adopt and nothing to migrate.
Do I need to switch platforms or buy software?
No. The Brief is built from an export of the media data you already license. There is no seat license, no login and nothing to install. You receive a file. It is platform-neutral by design, so whichever platform you license is the one it runs on.
How is a Media Reputation Score calculated?
Every article scores on four pillars: Sentiment at 35%, Distinction at 25%, Authority at 25% and Amplification at 15%. A company's pillar score is the mean of its article scores, so volume of coverage cannot raise it. Those pillars roll into the reputation drivers identified in the PBI scoping session, weighted to the priorities the business holds.
How much of the scoring is done by a person?
The report states it on its face, every period: how many articles were in scope, how many a human verified, and the ceiling that was contracted. Articles that were scored automatically are marked as such. You always know which numbers a person checked.
Why does the report rank by impact instead of by reach?
Because reach as supplied by media tools is usually a publisher constant, the same number attached to every article from that outlet. Ranked by reach, syndicated round-ups and passing mentions rise to the top. The Brief ranks by reputation impact and shows you the high-reach stories it demoted, so you can see the correction being made.
What is the difference between this and the free index at mrsindex.com?
The index scores 100 Fortune 1000 companies on open data. Anyone can check it and it will always be free. The Brief scores your own licensed coverage, which the index cannot see. The two produce different numbers for the same company because they read different coverage, and every Brief says so.
Do I have to do the PBI session first?
Yes. PBI defines which narratives matter, which outlets and markets are priority, and which competitors are contesting the space. Without it nobody can say which coverage counts, and the Brief cannot be scoped or quoted.
How often is it delivered?
Monthly is the board-grade read and the place to start. A weekly operating brief is available once direction is set.
